-Expected to be Operational by Early 2021-

KINGMAN, Ariz. – Colt Builders, who is regarded as a nation-wide leader in the commercial multifamily wood framing industry, is coming to Kingman’s Industrial Park. Vice President Janusz Sakowicz stated the reasons for choosing Kingman, “As a result of the growth in our Southwest region, and the increasing percentage of our work nation-wide requiring prefabricated wood wall panels, we identified a need for the development of our second wall panel plant in the Western half of the country. We have owned and operated a wall panel plant in New Brunswick, Canada for years, and recognized the need for a second plant in the Western U.S. After carefully studying several options from a geographic and logistical viewpoint, we decided on Kingman for a number of reasons – central location to our expanding markets in Northern and Southern California, Arizona, and Mountain Region. Key elements such as highway and rail network available, the existence of the Kingman Airport Industrial Park with ample raw land available, the favorable labor market in the region, and the tax advantages offered were definitely major decision factors. Of prime importance is the rail spur we are currently building, which will serve to bring in the lumber and sheathing goods required to fabricate our wall panels.”

Colt Builders’ new plant will develop in phases and will create approximately 50 jobs when all phases of building are complete. These jobs will offer full benefits with competitive wages. In addition, Colt offers growth opportunities within the company. “Based on Colt Builders’ needs, Kingman just made sense,” Kingman Industrial Park Manager Bennett Bratley said.  “Our location to major markets and access to rail tipped the site-selection scale in our direction. Quality companies like Colt Builders will continue to choose Kingman which means more jobs for our residents. It also translates into additional revenue to support our schools, recreational amenities, public safety, and improvement to our infrastructure. We will continue to make it our priority to market the Kingman Industrial Park in an effort to bring quality companies to our community.”

As for the capital investment Colt Builders will be bringing to Kingman, the first phase of the Colt facility will require a $3 million capital investment into the Industrial Park and will include a rail spur, a production building, and two large lumber storage buildings, with internal concrete roadways, drainage system and utilities. Colt anticipates their eventual capital investment for all phases will be around $9 million.
