The Kingman Unified School District, in various names, has been part of the Kingman community for 150 years. Its ‘Little Red School House’ opened in 1896 and still stands on the same property. Today, the district serves more than 7,000 pre-K through high school students in eleven schools. Its vision includes providing services that address its students’ and staff’ physical, emotional, intellectual and relationship needs while building systems that lead to engaging and relevant learning opportunities.

The Kingman Academy of Learning is a tuition-free public charter school started in 1995 as one of the first such schools in Arizona. Today, it leads more than 1,500 pre-K through high school students through their educational progress at four locations. It seeks to help students meet or exceed their academic goals through parent involvement, reducing absenteeism and having high standards for student behaviors.

Arizona Virtual Academy is an AdvancED accredited online public school open to K-12 students who are Arizona residents. The curriculum adheres to state testing while providing a personalized approach to education and career readiness for middle and high school students. Characteristics include:

Emmanuel Christian Academy of Kingman is an independent, non-denominational Christian school that offers academic excellence while reinforcing strong spiritual standards and family values. With one of the lowest tuition rates of Christian schools in Arizona, its mission is to serve God, change lives and challenge minds through Christian education.

Hualapai Hills Home Schoolers is a Christian-based, non-denominational support group of home education parents desiring to draw creative ideas from each other to stimulate higher learning in their children.

MCC is a comprehensive community college offering more than 80 associate degree and certificate options in 40 programs through four campuses, including one in Kingman. The College strives to meet the growing workforce needs of business and industry, allowing students to enter rewarding careers or proceed to other institutions to pursue bachelor’s degrees or higher. Career pathways at the college include:

• Health, Public Safety and Human Services

Northern Arizona University at Mohave Community College is a partnership between Northern Arizona University and MCC to provide a pathway to achieving a NAU bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education by beginning with courses at MCC.

WAVE is a Joint Technical Education District with six partner high schools across LaPaz and Mohave County. WAVE JTED provides high-quality vocational and technical education, allowing students to complete their schooling with employment training certificates, community college credits and marketable job skills.
