Workforce Development Month, established in 2005, celebrates the vital role of professionals who bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. These dedicated individuals design and implement programs that equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the workforce. By fostering a thriving talent pool, they contribute significantly to economic growth and business success, ensuring a well-prepared workforce supports a growing economy.
Arizona’s Workforce Professionals
Kingman ED thanks all workforce development professionals for their diligence in creating and cultivating the different programs geared toward educating, teaching, and assisting Arizona’s skilled workforce. Because of their efforts, Arizona was ranked one of America’s top 10 states with the best workers in 2022, 2023, and 2024. As of August 2024, Market Watch ranks Arizona fourth in the top 10 states Americans are moving to.
Arizona stands behind every worker being employed. In 2014, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law with goals to:
- Strengthen and improve the public workforce system
- Help job seekers get into high-quality jobs and careers
- Help employers hire and retain skilled workers.
Through Arizona@Work, the statewide workforce development network, employers and job seekers can utilize services to better Arizona’s workforce. Arizona@Work has 59 local offices throughout the state with one office in Kingman. Job seeker services include:
- Workshops
- Resume assistance
- Career Guidance
- Job matching
- Customized training
- Hosting hiring events

Kingman’s Workforce Professionals
Mohave Community College offers a wealth of classes to enhance Kingman’s workforce. The professors are dedicated to their subjects and eager to teach and train to help sustain the economy and improve Kingman’s quality of life for every resident.
By occupation, Kingman’s top three employment industries are:
- Office & Administrative Support
- Sales
- Food Preparation/Serving
As with most of America, since the 2020 pandemic, there has been a labor shortage. Kingman’s blue-collar work distribution amounts to 34%. With classes offered at Mohave Community College, Kingman wants more construction workers (and other blue-collar workers) to relocate.
Choose Kingman
Blue and white-collar workers are poised to do well in Kingman. With the largest Industrial Park in Northern Arizona, businesses are looking to hire, and there is space for new companies to relocate, expand, or start. As for the cost of living, it’s less than the state and the nation. Workers can’t go wrong when they choose Kingman.
