Electric Vehicle Museum Expanding to Beale Street

In search of a purpose for 519 E. Beale St., the City of Kingman is officially moving into escrow to transfer the property’s title to the Historic Electric Vehicle Foundation (HEVF).

At the April 15 City Council meeting, Economic Development Manager Bennet Bratley shared some information on the property that will soon become the home of the Electric Vehicle Museum. The original museum – opened in 2014 and still the only one of its kind in the world – is currently located in the Powerhouse. The collection of more than 100 years of electric vehicle history has outgrown the space, Bratley said.

“It really fit in well because of our longest stretch of Route 66 and how it played out with our history with transportation,” Bratley told the council. “So, the Electric Vehicle Foundation’s plan to purchase 519 Beale St. and develop it into a standalone facility really is the next step to the evolution of this.”
