City of Kingman Reopens Tourism Initiative Grant Program for Nonprofit Organizations
Kingman, AZ – The City of Kingman is reopening the Tourism Initiative Grant Program, a new opportunity to support nonprofit-led projects that boost tourism and drive economic growth. Eligible 501(c) nonprofits based in Kingman can apply for reimbursement-based funding for improvements that enhance the visitor experience, such as restoring historic buildings, upgrading accessibility, or improving public-facing facilities and infrastructure.
A total of $25,000 in annual funding is available. Projects must directly support tourism by attracting visitors, encouraging longer stays, or elevating Kingman’s cultural and historical appeal. Each grant requires a 50% match, with preference given to applications that exceed the minimum match or include valuable in-kind contributions. Total project costs however must not exceed $50,000 or require a formal solicitation process. Submitted projects must be new and may not begin prior to receiving grant approval in order to receive funding.
Applications will be accepted November 3 through November 28, 2025, with awards anticipated to be announced the end of December 2025. All funding will be provided on a reimbursement basis, and projects must be completed and the attraction or amenity must be currently open for public use by December 31, 2026. Final award recommendations are subject to City Council approval before applicants receive authorization to proceed.
To apply, organizations must first schedule a pre-application meeting with the City’s Grants Administrator, Monica Murphy. She can be reached by calling 928-753-8159. This step is required prior to submitting a completed application. Applications can be submitted either by email to [email protected] or delivered to her office at 310 N. 4th Street, Kingman, AZ 86401.
The grant guidelines are available on the City of Kingman Economic Development website, ChooseKingman.com or by request from the Grants Administrator. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Grants Administrator to begin the process early to ensure eligibility and timely submission.
